The good people at Vic Firth got together 8 acts for their Artist Spotlight’s of the year, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. Some were collabs, and some were solo’s. It was a laughter and gear filled 48 hours at the Fortress studio. Great times with old friends and new. This years spotlights are:

-Latin All Stars with Alex Acuña, Jimmy Branly, Tiki Pasillas, and Joey De Leon (I got to sit in with them for a few minutes, legends!)

–Aaron Spears, Gerald Heyward, Chris Coleman, and Jamal Moore

–Tim Yeung (Morbid Angel)

–Dave Elitch (Mars Volta) and Michael Iveson (Gotye)

Also, if you happened to be at NAMM this year, the Pearl Drums booth had a 20′ picture of me. It was a surreal moment for me to see myself on the wall at an event I went to since I was a kid, especially cuz it was such a creeper photo. Perfect, just perfect.
